Field TripsCreative Arts Trip to Prague 2026DescriptionStudents across the Creative Arts and Journalism and Media disciplines including, Media, Film, Animation, Music, and Animation. 12 January 2026 to 17 January 2026. A deposit of £200 must be paid by 20 October to secure a place. A final balance of £350 is required by 15 November. Creative Arts are planning an educational visit to Prague, capital of Czechia and jewel in the crown of Bohemia. Lying at the heart of Europe, Prague is one of the continent’s finest cities and the major Czech economic and cultural centre. The city has a rich blend of Baroque and Austro-Hungarian architectural heritage that reflects both the uncertain currents of history in Bohemia and an urban life extending back more than 1,000 years. As a centre of cultural and cinematic relevance, Prague is steeped in both classical and contemporary music and the creative arts. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart lived there, and his Prague Symphony and Don Giovanni were first performed in the city. The writings of Franz Kafka, dwelling in a different way on the dilemmas and predicaments of modern life, also seem indissolubly linked with life in this city. Many popular films, from blockbusters like Mission Impossible, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Casino Royale to classics like Amadeus and The Illusionist, have been filmed in Prague due to its beautiful architecture, relatively low production costs, and diverse settings. Most recently Robert Eggars used the city and Barrandov film studios for his celebrated remake of Nosferatu. Creative Arts have organized a trip to this wonderful and picturesque city to include visits to Barrandov Films Stusio, Cseska Televisio, Radio Free Europe and Free Liberty and the Karel Zeemal VFX Museum. Plus, much more. The full cost of the visit includes return flights from Luton Airport, plus Bed and Breakfast in a city centre hotel. Students will be invited to make their own way to and from the airport (as this may be closer to home for some), and the price does not cover entry to events, venues or local transport – all of which are much cheaper than UK prices |
