To participate, you will need a valid passport and pay by no later than 14th June 2024 (trip may close sooner if all places are taken)

 

Detailed Description

The outcomes of this visit are as follows:

  • Demonstrate cultural competence by engaging respectfully with Tanzanian health and social care professionals, patients, and community members.
  • Apply theoretical knowledge of global health and social issues to real-world situations encountered in the visited Tanzanian settings.
  • Evaluate the impact of social determinants of health, such as poverty, access to clean water, and education, on health and social outcomes in Tanzanian communities.
  • Reflect on personal and professional growth through immersion in a different cultural and health and social care context, including increased self-awareness and adaptability.
  • Critically reflect on ethical considerations related to global health and social care practice, including issues of equity, justice, and cultural sensitivity, in the context of providing care in Tanzania.
  • Collaborate with peers and local stakeholders to develop culturally appropriate solutions to address health and social care challenges identified during the field trip, fostering interdisciplinary teamwork and leadership skills.
